Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March in 1991. She is an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 2016, Ari Lennox released her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first posted music online in 2012. Her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 with the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time was interested in having her create Rihanna reference. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna had been hired with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a song that she co-wrote with Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. Also, she was featured on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music clip was then followed by a short video in September. Then on the 9th November the singer released two more singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Two more singles were released by her on 11/13 Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole on The Creed II sound track on November 16. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was released to promote the song. The track has received more than three million views on YouTube in its first week. In December 2018 the singer was a part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
